Final Exam

FINAL EXAM- Monday, June 15th, 8:00 AM in the Gym--- Be there at 7:45. We will begin at 8:00.

Final Exam

• Vocabulary: All words from this year are fair game--- Could be writing your own sentences, inserting the correct word into a sentence, etc.
• Reading comprehension passages with questions
• Be able to identify literary devices, why authors make particular choices and common themes
• Argument
• Read two articles
• Develop a claim, counterclaim and refute it
• Text analysis
• Read a speech
• Identify a central idea in the text
• Analyze how the author’s use of one writing strategy (literary element or literary technique or rhetorical device) develops this central idea.


• Examples include: characterization, conflict, denotation/connotation, metaphor, simile, irony, language use, point-of-view, setting, structure, symbolism, theme, tone, etc.

Welcome back! I hope you had a great weekend!
Today in English 9:

• We will be blocking and meeting in Mrs. Duggan's classroom to present the RSA films.
• Students will present their films and complete a graphic organizer for notes.

Reminders: Q3 Essay is due by the end of 10th period today. If you were on the Chorus Trip your final draft is due Wednesday by the end of the day. Don't forget to make up your Unit 7 Vocabulary Quiz.

HW: Read and annotate FDR's Inaugural Address.

RSA Project Announcement

Due to overwhelming technological difficulties students will be given another day to work on their RSA Projects! We will tackle tech problems together 3rd and 8th period!
